In the Star Wars universe, the Sith are an order of Force-wielders who embrace the dark side of the Force. They are known for their use of emotions like hate, anger, and greed to gain power, and are the main antagonists of the franchise. The Sith are the opposite of the Jedi, and their goal is to rule the galaxy through destruction.
Like the Jedi, the Sith use the lightsaber as their weapon, a device that generates a plasma powered by a kyber crystal. The Jedi, who primarily use blue and green lightsabers, the color for a Sith lightsaber is red, because of an unnatural corruption of the kyber crystal through the dark side's, causing it to bleed.
The Sith have many Star Wars universe figures, including Darth Bane, Darth Sidious, Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Darth Plagueis, and Darth Tyranus. The Sith Order was reformed by Darth Bane, who established the Rule of Two. Later, figures like Sidious and Vader led the Sith in their pursuit of galactic domination. The First Galactic Empire, the Imperial Remnant, and the First Order, all originated with the Sith. Sith, known individually as Sith Lords, are bruthless. At any point a single individual assumes absolute authority amongst their kind and is granted the honorific Dark Lord of the Sith.
